Caitlyn Laffey launched the ball into the net to score the opening goal in a late day match in frigid, windy conditions. The game settled into a midfield battle until early into the second half when Jessica Caruso fired home a 2nd off a great cross from Annie Thomas, and Madison Lui scored shortly afterwards when she sent home a loose ball in the opposition's half. Lightning kept a clean sheet thanks to a great team defensive effort with strong play from Alexa Farrell and Madison Mitzner.
