Lightning met up with the Breakers in a rainsoaked match on a muddy field. Annie Thomas beat several defenders and the keeper to put the Lightning up 1-0. Several mintues later the Breakers evened the match off a fast break opportunity. Both teams slipped and slid their way to a halftime tie. Caitlyn Laffey  scored a breakaway goal to put the Lightning up 2-1. This proved to be a lead that the Lightning would not relinquish thanks to strong midfield play from Ally Lindsey and Lindsey Sheehan, a late goal from Jessica Caruso and some key saves from Nicole Picardo.
